Saturday long runs for the NYC marathon training season depart at 6:30 AM. Meet at Joint Ventures (533 Commonwealth Ave, Boston)

Pick mileage that suits your training schedule. Feel free to adjust mileage above or below recommendation. Always run first mile very easy and listen to your body.

Note: This is for the Boston to NYC marathon training season

 Week 1: July 16, 2022 (8 - 10 miles)
Week 2:  July 30, 2022 (10 - 12 miles)
Week 3:  August 14, 2022 (12 - 14 - 16 miles)
Week 4: August 28, 2022 (14 - 16 miles)
Week 5: September 12, 2022 (14 - 16 - 18 miles)
Week 6: September 26, 2022 (16 - 18 - 20 miles)
Week 7: October 10, 2022 (18 - 20 - 22 - longest run)
Week 8: October 24, 2022 (10 miles)


2022 Hill Run Schedule

NOTE: There are no Hill Training runs for for NYC Fall marathon season 

Full = 500 meters / Half = 250 meters
Hill runs meet Wednesdays at the bottom of the Beacon St. hill inside the Boston Common (Corner of Charles St & Beacon St)
Start time is 5:30pm, if you need to come late feel free to join in when you get there.

Key Points

  • Adjust mileage up or down based on current training injuries, goals, etc.
  • First few miles should serve as a warm up
  • Pace runs modestly (should be able to talk)
  • Long run benefits: Physical & mental toughness
  • Increase mileage gradually. ​Do not worry if you miss a week!
  • Important to increase hydration; fueling as runs increase
  • These are the most important pieces of the training program.
