New to running? Follow our "How to Safely Start a Running Program" 4 week guide

 Week 1: Dec. 10: 6 - 8 miles
Week 2:  Dec. 17: 8 - 10 miles
Week 3:  Dec 24:  No group training run, train on your own
Week 4: Dec. 31: 10 miles 
Week 5: Jan. 7: 12 miles
Week 6: Jan. 15: Riverside Run #1
Week 7: Jan 21: 12 - 14+ miles
Week 8: Jan 28: Riverside Run #2
Week 9: Feb 4: 14 - 16 miles
Week 10: Feb 11: Riverside Run #3
Week 11:Feb. 18: 16 - 18 miles
Week 12: Feb 25:  10 miles 
Week 13: March 4: Riverside Run #4 10 - 12 miles
Week 14: March 11: 10 miles
Week 15: March 18: 18 - 22 miles (longest run on schedule)
Week 16: March 25: 10  miles
Week 17: April 1: Riverside  Run #5 10 - 12 miles

2023 Hill Run Schedule


Full = 500 meters / Half = 250 meters
Hill runs meet Wednesdays at the bottom of the Beacon St. hill inside the Boston Common (Corner of Charles St & Beacon St)
Start time is 5:30pm, if you need to come late feel free to join in when you get there.


Hill runs for the 2023 season begin on January 11th, 2023
Hill Run Schedule & Information 

Key Points

  • Adjust mileage up or down based on current training injuries, goals, etc.
  • First few miles should serve as a warm up
  • Pace runs modestly (should be able to talk)
  • Long run benefits: Physical & mental toughness
  • Increase mileage gradually. ​Do not worry if you miss a week!
  • Important to increase hydration; fueling as runs increase
  • These are the most important pieces of the training program.

  • November 8, 2022: First weekly email newsletter
  • December 2 - 4, 2022: Heartbreak Hill running company shopping weekend. 20% off for all Furey262 runners in stores and online.
  • December 10, 2022: First Saturday group long run at 8AM.
  • December 19, 2022: Nutritional Strategies Webinar (more info to follow)
  • January 11, 2023: First group hill run at 5:30 pm
  • January 2023: Heartbreak Hill running company shopping weekend. 20% off for all Furey262 runners in stores and online. Dates TBD
  • February 2023: Yoga for runners. Date TBH
  • March 18, 2023: Longest group run of the season
  • April 8, 2023: Final group long run
